About Us

Born from a love of hockey and a passion for giving back, the Buffalo Draft League brings players together through a unique draft format that builds friendships and fuels friendly competition. Off the ice, our community rallies behind causes that matter — from our annual Veterans Day Floor Hockey Tournament to fundraising for local families, veterans, and nonprofits. Hockey brings us together. Giving back keeps us united. It’s more than just floor hockey — it’s a community. The Buffalo Draft League’s unique draft format mixes up teams each season, fostering new friendships and keeping the competition fresh. But the real heart is off the rink: together, we’ve raised tens of thousands for local charities, provided holiday meals for families in need, fulfilled Christmas wish lists for children at Roswell Park, and supplied essentials to those experiencing homelessness. We play hard, give back harder, and prove that sports can be a powerful force for good. Giving back is at the core of what we do. Through our signature event — the Annual Veterans Day Floor Hockey Tournament — and other initiatives, we’ve: Raised tens of thousands of dollars for local nonprofits like Project 33 and ConnectLife, Provided Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for over 30 families in need, Fulfilled Christmas wish lists for children receiving treatment at Roswell Park, Supplied 20+ care packs to individuals experiencing homelessness, Mobilized 100+ volunteers each year to make it all possible. Every game, fundraiser, and event is another opportunity to support veterans, families, and neighbors across Western New York.
